Solar in New York

The future depends on us, for them

EDF Renewables in New York

For over 35 years, we have worked with hundreds of communities across the country building long-standing relationships with local leaders and neighbors. We invest in our host communities and landowners and take great pride in their success. Our projects provide jobs, tax revenues, landowner payments and other sources of local economic development. EDF Renewables is committed to our host communities for the life of the project.

EDF Renewables has been developing, building and operating clean energy projects in New York since 2016.  We have a pipeline with over 2,000 MW of projects to help New York reach its climate goals, including 70% renewable energy by 2030.  In addition to the environmental benefits, the potential economic impact these future projects can bring to New York is significant. EDFR in NY Communities

EDF Renewables recognizes all members of our communities and has created additional benefits to make our projects the most holistic, inclusive, and impactful they can be, including the below examples:

The annual Share the Sun donation program gives funds to community groups and initiatives, chosen by a local selection committee, for the first 10 years of project

$2,000 annual scholarships to local school district(s) for a student interested in trades or renewable energy for the first 10 years of project.

Integration with local workforce opportunities from training and employment centers, to BOCES, community colleges and union institutions early on and ongoing, to educate and integrate the local workforce into opportunities in the solar industry
